DADRA AND NAGAR HAVELI - SMALL IS BIG

Dadra and Nagar Haveli are situated at the foothills of the Western Ghats comprising of small villages sandwiched between the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra. The famous Lion Safari at Vasonais a popular tourist attraction. Dance and music are an integral part of their lives and they’re well known for their creativity and colorful culture. The Tur and Thali dances are prominent among a few tribes which are performed during marriages. The Bhawada is a mask dance, usually performed by the Kokna tribesmen depicting various Gods and Goddesses like Ravana, Ganesh, and every dancer enacts steps typical of the character whose mask he wears. 

This place celebrates all pan-Indian festivals with the same zeal and enthusiasm. They also have a unique festival called Akha Tij which is an all-women festival of the Kokna tribe. They celebrate Diwali as Barash and the weather in Silvassa and throughout Dadra and Nagar Haveli remains warm and pleasant throughout the year, making any time the best time to visit Silvassa. The local cuisine in Silvassa is a fantastic representation of all the different specialties of Dadra & Nagar Haveli especially a dish named Ubadiyu, the local version of Gujarati undhiyu. This Union Territory is dotted with ruins from its glorious past and a visit is a must. 

DAMAN AND DIU - ISLAND OF NATURAL BEAUTY

Daman and Diu are two separate land blocks isolated at a distance of about 800 km from each other. Both Daman and Diu have had a captured history, wherein they were under the possession of Portuguese and ruled by many Kings and Dynasties, making it an inquisitive place and rich with history. However, Diu is more popular as a tourist place because of the natural beaches, exotic cuisine, bold history, many other attractions, and sightseeing.

Diu has a unique and composite blend of Gujarat's and Portuguese cuisine since it was initially a part of Gujarat before it became a Union Territory. Well, their prawn coconut curry and fish & chips are worth the mention. The island is also quite popular because of the availability of alcohol, given the adjacent dry state of Gujarat. The climate of Diu is normally pleasant throughout the year and is not very extreme, making it anytime destination for the tourists. Ghogla Beach is another famous beach great for those who love listening to the sound of waves. It is also the home to two forts; Fort of Diu and Panikotha, excellent and magnificent reminders of the colonial past. 

Festival Village is Asia’s longest beach festival situated at a distance of 1 km from Diu Airport and 3 km from Nagoa Beach. This beach festival in Diu has arranged more than 20 musicians, 10 comedians, 15 bands, 6 heritage walks, and 30 workshops and we can assure you that it will take one’s breath away with the amazing experience. 

Among the many things for sightseeing here, one most imperative is visiting its temples and museums, which dates back to ancient times. This place would not disappoint you in any way, not even when you are looking for a spiritual experience.
